Indirect Questions Examples

Today we are going to learn how to make indirect questions in English by following some easy steps and checking some examples.

We can’t talk about indirect questions without knowing what direction questions are.

Direct questions are the normal questions that we can ask friends, family, and people we know well.

For example:

  • Where is the cat?
  • Where does she live?
  • Why did she quit her job?
  • When did she leave?

Indirect Questions are a little bit more formal and polite. We use them to talk to people who we don’t know really well.

There are different phrases that you can use to make indirect questions:

  3. Do you remember?
  4. Could you tell me?
  5. I was wondering…

  7. Would it be possible?
